Are perfumes your favorite cosmetics? If they are, you’ve got a nice choice. However, you may be wondering how to make them sustain for a long, long time, right? Here are some time-tested tips with which you can achieve that.
1. Don’t Store Your Perfumes in Damp Places
If you’ve got some really prized perfumes like Jizan Perfumes, you would certainly want them to last longer. In that case, you should make sure you don’t keep them in a damp, warm place like a bathroom. Light, heat and humidity are all bad for perfumes because they break them down and reduce the quality of fragrances. Choose a cool, dry spot instead, e.g. a section of your closet. This spot should of course be away from windows.
2. Make Use of Vaseline
Before spraying the perfume on your pulse points, rub some Vaseline there. The ointment acts like an occlusive and will lock the fragrance to your skin longer than if you would spray it on dry skin.
3. Use Unscented Lotion
Fragrances are retained longer on oily skins. Hence if your skin is dry, apply first a moisturizer before spraying a perfume so that it will lock the scent for longer.
4. Use Perfumes Right After Showers
While applying perfumes, remember to spray them right after you take a shower and the moisture on your skin will lock the scent. Another advantage of this would be that your delicate clothes or jewelry won’t be stained with the scent.
5. Don’t Rub Your Wrists Together
After spraying your perfume on your wrists if you rub them together, the top notes of the fragrance will be vanished faster than desired because of which your fragrance won’t last long.
6. Pulse Points and Warm Areas
To make your perfume last longer and show their optimum effect, you can choose certain target areas (though not all of them at a time) to spray the scent. These are:
- Inside elbows
- On neck
- Below midriff
- Behind knees
- On calves and ankles
7. Walk in a Shower of Perfume
Here’s a great idea to get showered with your perfume! Spray the fragrance in air and walk into its mist. This way your body will get the perfume evenly distributed. This trick is very good when your perfume is light and/or you don’t want to smell very strong.
8. Scent Your Hair
If you want your hair to be scented, use fragrances specially designed for hair. Remember not to spray alcohol-based perfumes (if they are not meant for hair) directly on hair as alcohol will dry out your hair. Instead spray your brush with the scent and run it through hair. This will leave your hair lightly fragrant and undamaged.
Use these tips to make optimum use of your beloved perfumes and keep fragrant all the time.
