Using Camos As Your Style Statement

This summer almost everyone is wearing camo. Camos range widely from $10 to hundreds of dollars and you can get them from your local army navy store or high end retailers in a number of forms like camo t-shirts, shirts, pants, shorts, jackets, caps, and a lot of others.

Some guys may be exception probably because camos mix in the surrounding atmosphere so well and they look so surreptitious. But most people are preferring them and they are a big hit not only this season, but all the time. This is obvious from the 2012 brand previews of all the fashion houses. And it is also obvious that they won’t stop in the near future. Nearly every brand presents at least one camo item in their new collections. So, one may think, why military clothing influences street style so much. There are reasons for that.

One main reason is camos are cool.

Other reason may be the ongoing wars. People might have found the soldiers’ attire appealing.

The beauty of camo clothing is you can wear it anyway and it gives that rough-n-tough look you always need in your persona. E.g. you can wear a long-sleeve jacket with a drawstring hood, zip and a camouflage panel. Again you can combine this with a crew neck short sleeve grey t-shirt and a twist seam brown chinos with front zip strap and chambray waistband.

Camo jacket looks good in any form, so to say, like if it is a military fashion trench coat or a camo parka. And you can use it as work wear in the most stylish way. You can also use camo flannel as a layering piece or even add just a pop of camo to your attire, like a scarf, a tie or even a cell phone cover. That adds to your style statement. Even camo pants can become a big statement, if done right.

To make it more effective and add to your rugged masculinity, treat camos just like you do to any other bold print, i.e. whether you have all types of camos, like a cap, a tie, a jacket, a tee or a pant, use one piece at a time and that will look mature enough in the style field.
