The great pomp and show of Indian wedding ceremonies made them world wide famous. Lots of people come as wedding guests and there are very interesting customs and traditions related to the Indian wedding. However, for the bride the most important thing is Indian bridal wear or the wedding dress. Some people say that once you see the wedding dress that is perfect for you, you will know that it’s the one. However, if you are suspicious about that, we will share some tips and tricks with you on how to choose the perfect wedding dress for one of the most important days of your life.

  • First of all, think about your budget. Once you are clear with how much money you can spend on your wedding dress, it will narrow down your search. Don’t be disappointed if you cannot afford the pricy bridal dress. The most expensive does not mean the most beautiful.
  • Sari, lehenga choli or salwar suit? Sometimes it depends on bride’s personal preferences, but sometimes you have to decide based upon the community or region you come from.
  • Think about the season. If you are planning winter wedding, choose tissue, velvet, silk or satin. For summer weddings, better options are georgette, chiffon, net etc.
  • Choose the style that flatter your figure. If you are thin, go for voluminous dresses or those with flares. In case you have some extra baggage, go for straight cut or slim fit dress. Whatever you choose between sari, salwar suit or lehenga choli, you can find the style that will flatter your body figure.
  • Think about your comfort! No dress will look beautiful enough if you do not feel well and comfortable wearing it. Keep in mind that Indian weddings are long in general and that you’ll have to look lovely throughout the day.
