What is aesthetics? This branch of philosophy deals with notions such as the beautiful, the ugly, the comic, the sublime. The root of the word comes from the Ancient Greek language meaning perception through all senses. However, when we go to the Esthétique center, beauty parlor and cosmeticians, we expect to look more beautiful and aesthetically appealing than we already do. Nowadays, beauticians have to enhance, make and maintain the natural beauty of a woman or a man. Also, beauticians should ensure our overall well-being. If you want to become a beautician, your job should be to make clients look younger, refreshed, more beautiful, and what’s more important, to feel good about themselves.

Today, it’s almost impossible to become a beautician before getting basic aesthetic education in an education center or beauty saloon. Most schools that offer training and education to future beauticians also offer the job placement assistance to their graduates, at least the best of them. Both women and men are yearning for looking more attractive and the world we live in has high standards when it comes to physical appearance. For this reason, it is not so difficult to find a job as a beautician. However, in order to become really successful, a beautician needs to get a long perfectly with clients, to be trained and skilled and to be ready to learn new techniques, to apply brand new products and to follow upcoming beauty and fashion trends. The best beauticians have the opportunity to take care of one or two clients: famous stars, actors, musicians, models etc.

Beauticians usually work long and this commonly includes nontraditional hours, weekends (well, people are rarely getting married on Wednesday at 1 p.m.) and nights. As a beautician, you have to be able to hold long conversations conveniently and to make your clients feel comfortable. It’s important to be persuasive when counseling clients on which styles would be flattering or not appropriate for them.
