Are the arrival signs of summer delighting you but thoughts of choosing bikinis making you daunted? Not sure, whether bikinis will look good on you? Don’t worry! Rest assured that if you choose mindfully, bikinis will definitely suit you. Bikinis are made of 2 parts – top and bottom, of which the top decides your looks to a great extent. Here are some tips to choose a top of your bikini carefully.
Triangles and String
Triangles and string style is very popular because the tightness can be adjusted. However, it has one shortcoming – they don’t stay in place and don’t provide support. Only those who are very young and having “gravity-proof” breasts are recommended to use them. Here you can watch a gorgeous example of triangles and string – a piece from the Wavelengths collection by Beach Bunny swimwear.
Bandeaus
Bandeaus can be with straps too, on sides or in the center. Actually they appear like a bandage in the sense that they don’t highlight the cleavage, which makes the bust look smaller and the body more boyish. If you want to avoid this but with bandeaus only, have them with underwires and broad bands at the back.
Fixed Triangle
Fixed triangle style is one step further than triangle and string. It provides a proper band for some support and straps too, which are normally halter neck style. Although this style doesn’t keep the breasts compact like the plunges and balconettes do, the halter neck straps provide nice cleavage.
Strapless
In strapless too, a broad back and underwires are important. Strapless bikini tops that are not bandeaus cleave the breasts and show off low-cut, so that they look curvier and more feminine than bandeaus. But just like bandeaus they need to be molded and wired to work.
Plunges, Balconettes and Half-cups
These styles are in classic bra shapes and their cups are styled from three pieces of cloth. They generally offer the best support and shape and go even up to K cup. Cups are soft as well as padded, amongst which the padded ones being cut lower, show skin more than the soft ones. Half-cups and balconettes are cut higher and provide plenty of support, while plunges show more cleavage.
