Perfumes and colognes have been around for centuries and women and men use them to enhance their beauty and even to attract the opposite sex. Fragrances lift moods, evoke beautiful memories or simply make one smell good. But from among an ocean of so many perfumes which one to choose to suit you the best? Here are some tips.
1. Choosing the Right Fragrance
Each perfume has different “notes”. These notes determine the overall strength and intensity of the scent. These notes contain three different layers, known as base, top and middle, and they work in synergy to form a particular smell. For example, some perfumes would be called floral and comprise of various scent notes like gardenia, rose or geranium. Others may be fruitier having undertones of apple or citrus. Some other perfumes may even contain spicy notes like cinnamon or anise.
Men’s perfumes contain masculine heavier notes like musk, pine or even leather-based.
It’s a good idea to first find out which type of perfume or cologne you would prefer and then check which base notes they consist of and make your shopping decision based on that.
Jizan Perfumes have a range of perfumes to choose from so that whichever perfume you want, you’ll get it.
2. Choosing a Concentration
There are four different levels of concentration of fragrances. The higher the concentration, the higher will be the price too. Often perfumes or colognes with higher concentration have a stronger scent that lasts for longer. Therefore, according to some people, the high price is worth it. The highest concentration is called simply perfume or parfum. This usually lasts for the whole day with only one application on wrists or pulse points. The level lower to this is eau de parfum, which can typically last for around six hours after application. The next lower level is eau de toilette which is quite affordable and can be easily found in retail stores. It may require more than one application across the day to make it last. The fourth and last concentration is eau de cologne which lasts for around two hours.
3. Testing the Fragrance
A few simple tests before buying a perfume may help you in choosing the right perfume for you. Firstly do a simple sniff test to see how it smells. However, you should try the scents on your skin too. Our skin has a unique code of hormones and pheromones and so, slightly or extremely change the way fragrances smell on it. Therefore spread a small amount on skin to check how it smells and if you like it, you can buy it.
Use the above tips to find the right perfume for you so that you can smell amazing anywhere you go.
