Paris fashion week pulled curtain on March 7 after nine days of wonderful catwalk presentations with some of the most prestigious fashion houses of the world displaying their collections of Fall/ winter 2012. Here is a collection of some of the greatest brands to come up from the event, where leather came in different forms and shapes and green appeared as a competitor to New York’s omnipresent orange and Milan.

Ticklish fashionistas have band news for fall 2012 as feathers were everywhere over Paris Fashion Week, with bubbles of pink plumage capturing the show at Alexander McQueen and faces of models being concealed by ornate feather creations at the Krejberg and Peachoo show. Other brands went for a more quiet take on the trend, with Zuhair Murad showing cocktail dresses decorated with feathers and sequins, Louis Vuitton admiring creations influenced by Edwardian with jewels and feathers and Andrew Gn decorating blouses with feather and lace appliqués.

Influence of east could be seen at many shows, with motif of Japan blossom being embroidered on blouses of chiffon at the Leonard presentation and deconstructed kimonos making an influence at Maison Martin Margiela. Kimono detailed blouses were also that at Damir Doma, while eastern inspired prints and kimono shapes were unique at Dries Van Noten. At the Mugler show, Japanese animation was attributed, where models carried ninjas in black big shouldered creations along with hoods.

Leather had to be the material choice at Paris Fashion Week, with a string of leather creations in black including a trench coat, shorts, a cape, and jumpsuit opening the show of Valentino. The material was just all over at Yves Saint Laurent and Givenchy, with outlines at the former featuring a leather tunic with long sleeve.
