Year 2012 will be the seventh for the Scottish Fashion Awards. The event is going to be held in Glasgow at the Clyde Auditorium on 11th June. It will be hosted by the international fashion icon Alexa Chung, who is better known for her massive contribution to the fashion industry apart from being a TV personality. The covers of Elle, Vogue and Harpet’s Bazaar have been graced by Alexa Chung.
The most prestigious award in the ceremony and in the fashion industry is the Scottish Fashion Icon and there are five hot nominees for the award. They are Doctor Who star Karen Gillan, Lions For Lambs star Louise Linton, Lip Service star lain De Caestecker, Kassidy rocker Barrie James O’Neil and singer Annie Lennox’s daughter and model Tali Lennox. They have been chosen from amongst the previous list of 10 deserving stars. Scottish Fashion Awards founder Tessa Hartmann says that she loves all these five nominees.
The Fashion Icon Award is the only award for which common public can vote. What’s more, this is the first year for the event wherein its doors will be thrown open to the general public! Thus people can witness one of the most lavish celebrity nights in person this year! The fashion extravaganza will present the most thrilling runway collections, the nominee catwalks, surprise music performances, star guests, Swarovski Paris’ couture show and above all, the most exciting red carpet night. The event will be followed by the exquisite Gala VIP dinner. The Swarovski runway show is an outstanding previewing of the forthcoming Winter 2012 ‘Kingdom of Jewels’ couture and fashion collections for the first time in the UK. The creator of these collections is Nathalie Colin, the Paris-based Creative Director.
